Falsettos at the ready: Crock Of Hits gathers more than two decades of The Darkness into one over-the-top package, due as a limited 2LP set on red and yellow 140-gram vinyl.

The band picked the songs themselves, drawing from all eight studio albums, from the 2003 debut Permission to Land through to Dreams on Toast. The result is a full account of a career that has outlasted every joke ever made at its expense, from the giddy early chart run to the long, steady second act that followed the reunion.

Side one opens with I Believe in a Thing Called Love, still one of the most joyous guitar singles of its era, before Love Is Only a Feeling shows the band could handle grand, aching balladry just as convincingly. The festive staple Christmas Time (Don't Let the Bells End) earns its place too, double entendre and sleigh bells intact.

The set closes with the full version of Masters of the Universe, the theme they recorded for the 2026 He-Man film, a fitting finale for a band that has always treated rock as pure spectacle.

Justin Hawkins' falsetto and Dan Hawkins' riffs remain the twin engines throughout, and hearing their best moments side by side makes the band's staying power easy to understand. Spandex optional, air guitar strongly encouraged.
