Emerging from the vibrant late '70s Texas punk scene, Big Boys made waves with their fearless blend of genres, setting themselves apart from the standard hardcore fare. Frontman Randy "Biscuit" Turner's performances were legendary, known for both his high-energy antics and his occasional forays into fabulous cross-dressing. With Tim Kerr shredding on guitar and Chris Gates laying down the bass, the lineup saw Rey Washam, later of Scratch Acid, among their noted drummers.

This 1981 release daringly reshaped the punk landscape by incorporating skate-worthy funk rhythms alongside hardcore's raw edges, a sound well-documented on Thrasher magazine's influential skate comps. Big Boys' approach to punk was irreverent and inclusive, with their shows turning into participatory jams where audience and artists melded into a single, jubilant punk celebration. They didn't shy away from eclectic influences, even fearlessly covering Kool & the Gang.
