The Process of Belief marked a homecoming for Bad Religion, a 2002 album that reunited the band with guitarist and songwriter Brett Gurewitz and with Epitaph.

Gurewitz's return restored the songwriting partnership with Greg Graffin that powered their classic records, and the pair produced the album together. It also introduced Brooks Wackerman on drums, whose speed and precision gave the band a fresh jolt of energy. After several years apart, the reunited core sounded hungrier and sharper than they had in a long while.

Opener "Supersonic" sets a breakneck pace from the very first second, and "Broken" pairs a sing-along melody with Graffin's sharp, philosophical lyrics. "Sorrow" is the standout, a mid-tempo anthem with a big, sweeping chorus that became one of their best-known songs, while "Kyoto Now!" takes a direct swipe at political indifference to climate change.

Fourteen songs fly by in well under forty minutes, packed with the trademark harmonies, quick-fire riffs and big ideas that define the Bad Religion sound, delivered with the urgency of a band with something to prove.

It is a strong entry point for newer fans and a reminder for veterans of how vital they sounded at the turn of the century, with every song built to be shouted back from the pit.
