Blondie's High Noon is the band's 12th studio album and their first new material in nine years, housed on vinyl in a gatefold jacket.

It is also a farewell of sorts. Co-founding drummer Clem Burke, who died in 2025, plays across the record, making these his final recordings with the band he helped build in the New York punk and new wave scene. Producer John Congleton, who helmed 2017's Pollinator, returns behind the desk.

The guest list reads like a record collector's daydream. Johnny Marr wrote lead single Spectral Eyes and plays guitar on it, while Glen Matlock, Beirut's Zach Condon and Lucius' Jess Wolfe and Holly Laessig turn up throughout. Tambo Tambo features Ismael Baiz, a nod to the stylistic wanderlust Blondie have always had.

The record pulls together threads from every era of the band, and song titles like Heartbreak Kid and Bad Underwear suggest the famous humour is fully intact. Debbie Harry and Chris Stein have made a record grounded in the present rather than leaning on past glories.

For a group whose influence runs through decades of pop, High Noon is a chance to hear them still pushing, with one last beat from Burke at the heart of it.
