Quick flag: the listing says Lou Reed, but Drama of Exile is a Nico album (the description text is all about her), so the artist field is worth correcting. Copy below is written for Nico:

Drama of Exile is Nico's return to rock, a 1981 record where a full band backs that unmistakable voice as it drifts over the top like fog, now on lavender vinyl.

Born Christa Päffgen, Nico first drew the world's attention alongside the Velvet Underground in 1967, then spent the 1970s making stark, solo records that quietly shaped goth and post-punk. This 1981 set brings her back to a band format, with a mix of originals and carefully chosen covers. No one in rock has sounded quite like her since.

Genghis Khan opens the record in suitably ominous style, Heroes turns Bowie's anthem into something stoic and chilly, and Waiting for the Man revisits the Velvet Underground classic with a weary, deadpan shrug. Purple Lips adds a dash of gothic menace of its own.

Nico remains one of rock's great outsiders, and this album shows her bending other people's songs to her own bleak, elegant will. It is not an easy listen, nor is it trying to be, but the strangeness is the point. Anyone who has worked through the Velvet Underground and the Berlin-era Bowie records will find this a fascinating, haunting companion, and the lavender pressing is a suitably unusual way to hear it.
