Free Yourself Vinyl
Lake Street Dive’s Free Yourself Up, released in 2018, showcases the band at their most intimate and collaborative, now available on vinyl LP. Recorded in Nashville with engineer Dan Knobler, the album was entirely self-produced, reflecting the group’s tight-knit chemistry and creative independence. Across ten tracks, the band blends soulful vocals, classic pop melodies, and sharp lyrical insight into a record centered on empowerment and resilience. As the band explains, Free Yourself Up is about “emboldening yourself, no matter what’s going wrong.”
Formed in 2004 at the New England Conservatory of Music, Lake Street Dive brings together jazz-trained musicians with a shared passion for classic pop influences like The Beatles, Dusty Springfield, The Supremes, and The Beach Boys. That eclectic foundation shines through on Free Yourself Up, with songs that balance retro warmth and modern energy.
