96 Months collects nine years of Calvin Harris singles that never had an album to live on, now gathered across 2LP.

It's billed as a sequel to 18 Months, the 2012 record that rebuilt Harris as a producer who hands the microphone to someone else and lets the track do the talking. What's changed since is the release model. From 2015 onward he simply put out singles, one after another, with no album to anchor them, which is what happens when a producer becomes reliable enough that every track lands on its own. This 2024 compilation is the first time most of them have shared a sleeve.

The guest list doubles as a map of the last decade in pop: Rihanna, Dua Lipa, Sam Smith, Ellie Goulding, Rag'n'Bone Man, Steve Lacy, PartyNextDoor. This Is What You Came For is the one that defined a whole summer, all shimmering restraint until the drop. One Kiss dragged filter house back into the charts with Dua Lipa riding it perfectly, Promises does the same trick with gospel-inflected piano, and Free arrives as the sole new track.

Nine years of singles that dominated radio without ever needing a home. Turns out they sequence rather well. Harris built a career making other people sound like the main event.
