Inspired by the Dr Dre classic, The Chronic, the concept for this release was to bridge gaps between generations, as well as coasts, while showing love to the album that introduced the world to Death Row Records. The Chronic is a timeless masterpiece that shifted not only the trajectory of Hip Hop culture at the tail end of 1992, but the entire scope of the music industry from that point on. It's telling when an album that was recorded 3 decades ago can still provide a template for art created today, which is precisely what Big Ghost Ltd has done here. 38 Spesh & Conway are reputed spitters, who have displayed ease with rhyming over everything from dusty loops to contemporary trap beats. The fact that they can sound this naturally compelling over vintage G-funk beats is a testament to their undeniable talents.
