Willie Colón and Rubén Blades reunite on Canciones del Solar de los Aburridos, a salsa landmark returning on 180 gram vinyl with lacquers cut from the original master tapes.

Released in 1981, the third collaboration between Colón and Blades is a GRAMMY-nominated blend of salsa with rhythms from across Latin America, including Cuban charanga, Brazilian samba and Venezuelan joropo. Co-produced by the two stars, it also carries the sharp social commentary that made their partnership so celebrated.

Tiburón is the provocative centrepiece, a wry, menacing tale that slips social critique into an irresistible groove. Te Están Buscando keeps the commentary sharp, Ligia Elena tells a story with real heart, and Madame Kalalú adds a splash of playful, rhythmic colour.

Seven tracks of brass, percussion and razor-sharp storytelling, all carried by Blades' vivid lyrics and Colón's trombone-driven arrangements, make this a masterclass in how dance music can also say something that matters.
