Formed in 1979 by brothers John and Rob Wright, later joined by guitarist Andy Kerr, Nomeansno created a sound that felt like punk had been sent to grad school, aggressive, yes, but also witty, inventive, and weirdly elegant. It’s no wonder Wrong is still hailed as their definitive statement and was even crowned the Canadian Polaris Heritage Prize winner in 2021.
