Modern Baseball's MOBO Presents: The Perfect Cast returns in a gleefully overblown 30th Anniversary Ultimate Edition on clear turquoise vinyl, roughly a decade after the EP first appeared.

Released in 2015, the six-song EP landed between You're Gonna Miss It All and Holy Ghost and quickly became a cult favourite among fans of the Philadelphia band. Co-frontmen Brendan Lukens and Jake Ewald were writing sharper, more confident songs, and the band produced it themselves, keeping the scrappy warmth that made their records feel like late-night conversations with friends.

Side one runs through the original EP. "The Waterboy Returns" kicks things off in typically self-aware style, and the two singles, "The Thrash Particle" and "Revenge of the Nameless Ranger", show the band at their most hook-driven, all wiry guitars, quick wit and heart-on-sleeve urgency.

The flip side is where the ultimate edition earns its name, adding seven live recordings from the era, newly mixed and mastered. Club sets and online sessions recorded while the band was supporting the EP capture the rowdy, communal energy of their shows.

The anniversary maths may be a joke, but the affection behind it is real, and the extra material turns a short, beloved EP into a fuller portrait of a band near its peak.
