Fifty years on, Kiss's Rock And Roll Over gets a fresh look from the man who first recorded it, as this upcoming 180-gram LP presents the new Eddie Kramer 2026 Mix of the 1976 classic.

After the grand, orchestrated ambition of Destroyer, Kiss went back to basics later that same year, reuniting with Kramer and cutting the album in the empty Star Theatre in Nanuet, New York, to capture the room-shaking punch of their live show. For this anniversary, Kramer returned to the original analogue multitrack tapes to build a brand-new stereo mix, so familiar songs arrive with fresh air around them.

"I Want You" opens with a quiet acoustic tease before kicking the door in behind Paul Stanley's swaggering vocal, and Gene Simmons stalks through "Calling Dr. Love" with every ounce of his trademark menace. "Hard Luck Woman", sung by Peter Criss, is the gentle, raspy heartbreaker in the pack, while "Makin' Love" closes things in a blur of riffs and pure bravado.

It remains one of the leanest records of the band's classic era, with hooks everywhere and no padding.

Hearing it remixed by its original producer is a rare chance to rediscover a 1970s hard rock staple with a little more muscle and clarity in every crash cymbal.
