Youth and Young Manhood is the fiery debut that kicked down the doors for Southern garage rock in the early 2000s. Originally released in 2003, this double LP captures the raw, swaggering energy of a band that refused to play it safe.
From the instant stomp of “Red Morning Light” to the howling rebellion of “Molly’s Chambers” and the irresistible groove of “California Waiting,” this album radiates grit, attitude, and a good dose of youthful chaos. Caleb Followill’s gritty vocals, combined with fuzzy guitars and driving rhythms, make it impossible to ignore.
