Elton John hits the dance floor on Positiva Presents: Elton John - The Remixes, eight club reworks pressed on 180 gram glow-in-the-dark vinyl.

Curated by Elton himself to mark 30 years of the UK dance label Positiva, the set spans decades of remix culture, from Shep Pettibone's late-80s studio wizardry to the recent run of collaborations that put him back at the top of playlists and festival bills. His love of club music goes back to the 1970s, and this selection plays like a personal mixtape rather than a label sampler.

Cold Heart, his hit with Dua Lipa, appears twice, in The Blessed Madonna's extended mix and a version from Claptone, while Purple Disco Machine gives Hold Me Closer, his duet with Britney Spears, a sleek, sunlit groove. Sad, his collaboration with Pnau, gets a warm rework from The 2 Bears, and Rocket Man is reimagined by KDME.

Elsewhere the selection reaches back through the 1990s to the late 80s, so vintage club mixes share the floor with the recent hits, and the sequencing keeps the energy climbing.

It's a playful, high-energy side of a catalogue usually heard from behind a piano, and the glowing vinyl feels like exactly the right fit for records built to be played once the lights go down.
