ZZK Records Presents: Mitos & Ritos, the debut EP from Ecuadorian collective Cruzloma, is a bold fusion of ancestral tradition and forward-thinking electronic music. Rooted in the sounds of bambuco, bomba del chota, and san juanito, this six-track release honors the rhythms and ceremonial practices of Indigenous Ecuadorian cultures while reimagining them through a lens of global bass, dembow, and electronica. Sacred Shuar prayers like “Ujaj” and “Anets” appear alongside references to rituals such as the ayahuasca ceremony and tzan tza, crafting a soundscape that’s both spiritual and fiercely danceable.
With Mitos & Ritos, Cruzloma bridges the past and the future, reclaiming Indigenous identity while exploring contemporary musical forms. The EP serves as a cultural dialogue in response to environmental and spiritual crises, inviting listeners to reflect, reconnect, and move. This is more than music—it’s a sonic ritual, a deep dive into the Ecuadorian jungle, and a celebration of Latin American folklore brought to life on the modern dancefloor.
