A struggling screenwriter who can’t sell his scripts to the Hollywood studios may be her only hope, until their dangerous and captivating relationship leads to disaster. Drenched in champagne and cynicism, SUNSET BLVD. focuses the lens on the ambitions and frustrations of its characters and puts their intoxicating need for fame and adoration in stark close-up.

Recorded live from The Savoy Theatre, London. The incredible Sunset BLVD. With lead Nicole Scherzinger, this Andrew Lloyd Webber & Jamie LLoyd re-imagining of the classic has seen huge critical acclaim. With the album launching alongside the show’s opening at broadway, this will be the first time people outside of the theatre can hear the show in its new form.

This album was recorded over five live recordings in the London run of Sunset Boulevard in Winter 2023. The majority is from the performance on Thursday 21st December.

Very little enhancement or additional “reverb” has been added to the performances over and above what was heard in the theatre.

For the technical, the cast wore DPA 4066 headset microphones, the orchestra was recorded on a range of DPA instrument microphones whilst 9 microphones were added around the auditorium to achieve the spacial effect of the theatre.

The album was mixed in an immersive 7.1. 2 format. The stereo mix will hopefully draw you into listening to this Sunset as you might an audio radio
