Keys To Ascension: The Studio Recordings collects every studio track the classic Yes lineup cut for its two Keys To Ascension albums, here on a gatefold 2LP UK import.

In 1996 Jon Anderson, Chris Squire, Steve Howe, Rick Wakeman and Alan White reunited in San Luis Obispo, California, for a run of concerts and new studio sessions. The results were scattered across two double albums that mixed live and studio material, so the new songs rarely got the spotlight they deserved. It was also the last time this lineup recorded together.

Mind Drive is the centrepiece, a sprawling multi-part epic that sits comfortably beside the band's most ambitious work, and That, That Is runs close to 20 minutes through seven linked sections. Be the One leans into Anderson's soaring melodic side, while Foot Prints gives Howe and Wakeman plenty of room to spar.

Spread across four sides with roughly 75 minutes of music, the set comes in a gatefold sleeve with new artwork by Roger Dean, whose landscapes have defined the Yes look since the early 1970s, alongside Mike Inns.

For prog fans, this is a chance to hear the final flowering of the classic lineup as a proper album, sequenced for vinyl and free of the live material that once surrounded it.
