WILLOW turns inward and upward on The Thread, a devotional, quietly radiant record pressed here on clear magenta vinyl.
Released in 2026 as her ninth studio album, it continues the restless streak that has carried her from pop-punk catharsis to the jazz-leaning adventure of Empathogen. Written and produced with longtime collaborator Chris Greatti, this one drifts toward progressive R&B, alternative jazz and atmospheric soul, exploring spirituality, the divine feminine and the invisible ties that connect people to each other and to something larger.
"She's My Religion" opens the album with a statement of intent, while lead single "Talk on the Hill," which she later performed on late-night television, carries the album's spiritual questions right to the forefront. The title track "The Thread" ties the album's themes together, and "Unconditional" leans into the warmth of devotion without ever tipping into sentimentality.
The arrangements leave plenty of air around her voice, letting meditative textures and soulful chords breathe rather than crowd the songs, so the record unfolds slowly and rewards close, patient listening.
It is a record for slow evenings and open minds, and striking evidence that WILLOW is following her own compass wherever it points, with the magenta vinyl adding a glow that suits the mood.
