Ween's White Pepper finds Gene and Dean Ween at their most tuneful, and this limited edition reissue serves it up on green vinyl.

Released in 2000, the duo's seventh studio album was their last for Elektra, produced by the band with Chris Shaw. The title mashes together the Beatles' White Album and Sgt. Pepper, a hint at the big, melodic ambitions inside, though this being Ween, nothing stays straight-faced for long. It's often pointed to as the most accessible record in their catalogue, a gateway for newcomers that still rewards the faithful.

The range is dizzying. "Even If You Don't" is a sunny, chiming pop song with a lovesick heart, "Bananas and Blow" drifts off to a tropical beach bar with tongue lodged firmly in cheek, and "Stroker Ace" detours into a short, snarling blast of hard rock. "Stay Forever" brings the warmth back with a sweetly sincere melody, proof the band could play it straight whenever they felt like it.
