Curated by DJ Notoya and pressed on vinyl for the first time outside Japan, this compilation brings the funk, boogie, and city pop heat from King Records’ vaults straight to your turntable.
Spanning 1974 to 1988, this set features rare gems like the dreamy “Garasumado” by folk duo Buzz, the glossy synth sparkle of Mami Ayukawa, and Johnny Yoshinaga’s keyboard-stacked funk storm “The Rain.” There’s slow-burn elegance in Keiko Toda’s “Fade In,” and full-throttle dancefloor gold with Kumiko Sawada’s “Your Love’s Away.”
Mastered with care in Tokyo and Paris and beautifully packaged with art by Manuel Sepulveda, Tokyo Bliss is a crate-digger’s fantasy turned real. Breezy, funky, and impossibly cool—this is peak city pop chic.
