UFO's Mechanix is set to return as a newly remastered 3LP deluxe edition, pairing the 1982 album with a previously unreleased Hammersmith Odeon concert from the same year.

Mechanix arrived in 1982 and climbed to No. 8 on the UK albums chart. Phil Mogg, Paul Chapman, Pete Way and Andy Parker were joined by Neil Carter, making his full studio debut with the band on guitar, keyboards and saxophone, and that extra colour pushed UFO toward a brighter, punchier take on British hard rock.

The Writer opens the record with a swaggering riff, and their romp through Eddie Cochran's Somethin' Else is pure rock and roll fun. Elsewhere, the band prove they can handle anthems and slow-burning drama in the same breath, with Carter's keys and sax adding fresh shades throughout.

The second and third LPs capture the band live at London's Hammersmith Odeon in 1982, newly mixed by Brian Kehew. Fan favourites Too Hot to Handle and Love to Love get the full-throttle treatment in front of a roaring home crowd, and the new mix puts you right in the stalls.

For fans of the band, it offers the studio record and UFO at full volume on one of London's great stages, all in one set.
