Totally Twisted: The Studio Albums 1982-1987 gathers every Twisted Sister studio record from their eighties heyday into one limited 5LP box, due in 2026, with each album on its own colour: red, blue, pink, green and yellow.

Before the fame came years of grinding it out in the clubs around New York. Under the Blade introduced their raw, heavy side in 1982, You Can't Stop Rock 'n' Roll sharpened it a year later, and 1984's Stay Hungry turned Dee Snider's painted face into an MTV fixture. Come Out and Play and Love Is for Suckers completed the run before the band split late in the decade.

The hits are all here. The Kids Are Back is a gang-vocal rallying cry, and We're Not Gonna Take It remains one of rock's great anthems of defiance, its chorus still shouted at sports grounds and protests. I Wanna Rock is pure fist-in-the-air simplicity, while Leader of the Pack turns the Shangri-Las classic into a leather-clad romp.

Behind the makeup sat a seriously tight band, with Jay Jay French and Eddie Ojeda trading riffs over a thundering rhythm section.

Hearing the five albums in order shows how far they travelled in a few short years, from hungry club band to household name.
