Turnstile's Time & Space is the moment Baltimore hardcore started sounding big enough for any room, and this pressing also comes with a digital download card.

Their first album for Roadrunner, from 2018, found Brendan Yates and company pushing at the edges of a scene known for strict rules. Producer Will Yip captured the band at his Studio 4, keeping the mosh-pit urgency intact while letting in shades of groove, swing and outright pop that few hardcore records would dare to attempt. Critics took notice, and the album laid the groundwork for the crossover success that followed.

Opener "Real Thing" kicks the door in with a riff built for stage dives, and "Generator" keeps the pit moving with relentless forward drive. Elsewhere, unexpected textures surface between the breakdowns, from swinging rhythms to bright, melodic hooks, and the band sounds genuinely thrilled to be breaking its own rules in public.

Songs arrive fast and leave even faster, which only makes the whole thing hit harder, and the sequencing barely leaves a moment to catch your breath between them.

Anyone who found Turnstile through their later records will discover the essential missing chapter here, a loud and joyously unruly blueprint for everything they would go on to become.
