Oklahoma's Turnpike Troubadours keep their red dirt revival rolling on The Price of Admission, a 2025 album full of hard-won wisdom and heartland storytelling.

Their sixth studio album reunited the band with producer Shooter Jennings, this time at Sunset Sound in Los Angeles, where he encouraged them to record quickly and trust their instincts. Frontman Evan Felker wrote much of the material over a month at his ranch near Okemah and, unusually for him, brought in co-writers including John Fullbright, Old Crow Medicine Show's Ketch Secor and Trampled by Turtles' Dave Simonett.

On the Red River opens the record with a vivid sense of place, while Heaven Passing Through, the album's radio single, pairs a tender melody with the band's trademark fiddle. Searching for a Light carries a quiet, searching ache, and Ruby Ann, penned by bassist RC Edwards, shows off the depth of songwriting across the whole group. The playing throughout is loose and lived-in, the sound of a band that knows exactly who it is.

That tight, road-tested chemistry comes through loud and clear on vinyl, with fiddle and guitars ringing out in real warmth. It is a worthy addition to a catalogue that has made Turnpike one of the most beloved names in modern country.
