Eat Myself is together PANGEA's first full-length since 2021's DYE, a 2026 return from the Los Angeles band pressed here on 180 gram vinyl in a gatefold jacket.
The group grew out of Santa Clarita and spent the 2010s as a fixture of Southern California's garage rock circuit, trading in fuzzy guitars, snotty hooks and choruses built for sweaty all-ages rooms. Over the years William Keegan, Danny Bengston and Erik Jimenez have folded more melody into the noise without losing their bite, and this record keeps that balance firmly in place.
For this outing they worked with producer Mikey Freedom Hart, and the title track opens proceedings with a self-lacerating grin that sets the tone. Elsewhere, "Halloween" pulls in fellow Southern California band The Red Pears, while "Hollywood Trash" delivers exactly the kind of sneer its name promises.
Closer "Burn the Hillsides" leaves things on a smouldering note, a fitting send-off from a band that has always written about restless nights, bad decisions and the people who get you through both, usually with a wink.
Heavyweight vinyl suits this kind of record, giving the drums real punch and the guitars room to fray at the edges. Drop the needle, turn it up and let it run straight through.
