Six decades into their career, The Rolling Stones followed Hackney Diamonds with Foreign Tongues, a 2026 studio album presented here on 180 gram double vinyl in a gatefold jacket.

Producer Andrew Watt is back behind the desk, and the sessions stretched across several years, moving between Los Angeles and Metropolis Studios in London. The most poignant piece dates from 2021, when Charlie Watts sat in on one of his final sessions before his death, and his drumming drives "Hit Me in the Head". Elsewhere, Steve Jordan handles most of the drumming alongside the core trio of Mick Jagger, Keith Richards and Ronnie Wood.

Guests abound. Steve Winwood adds organ to lead single "In the Stars", Robert Smith of The Cure lends guitar, vocals and synth to a pair of tracks, and Paul McCartney plays bass on "Covered in You". The band also tip their hats to two very different heroes, turning in a version of Amy Winehouse's "You Know I'm No Good" and closing with a Chuck Berry cover.

It sounds like a band still thrilled by the racket they make together, swaggering through rockers and slower burners with the confidence of people who wrote half the rulebook.

The double vinyl gives all fourteen songs room, and the gatefold makes a handsome addition to any Stones shelf.
