The Neighbourhood's Wiped Out! returns for its 10th anniversary as an expanded 180-gram double LP in a gatefold jacket, stretching the moody 2015 album into a fuller portrait of the era.
The California band's second studio album followed the success of their debut and pushed their sound somewhere hazier and more confessional. Much of it was written and recorded around Malibu and Santa Monica, and the title came from the band's own exhaustion, which suits the record's sun-bleached, slightly hungover mood. Production came mostly from 4e and Justyn Pilbrow.
Jesse Rutherford's vocals drift over reverb-soaked guitars and hip-hop-informed beats. "Daddy Issues" is the one that found a whole new audience years later, its slow-burning ache spreading online long after release, while "R.I.P. 2 My Youth" and "Cry Baby" carry the album's mix of swagger and vulnerability.
This anniversary set keeps the original eleven tracks and adds four further songs, among them "Leather Weather", along with a "Daddy Issues" remix featuring Syd and a run of demos and voice memos that pull back the curtain on how these songs took shape.
For fans who discovered the band through a late-night scroll, it fills in the story with plenty of new detail, and the extra material sits comfortably alongside the originals.
