Split EP puts two generations of Swedish rock and roll on one 10-inch, Sator handing the torch to a band their own founder discovered and mentored, pressed on blue vinyl.

Chips Kiesbye has been running Sator since 1981, building a reputation not just as a musician but as one of Sweden's most trusted producers, credits including The Hellacopters, The Nomads, and Sahara Hotnights among them. More than fifteen years ago he spotted something in The Headlines worth backing, and he's produced and championed the band ever since, which makes this split less a novelty pairing and more a genuine passing of influence between mentor and protégé who've stayed close the whole time.

The Headlines contribute Fucked Up, a rough, backward-glancing rocker that leans into everything Sator originally taught them, and True Grit, a more melodic, American-inflected punk song that shows how far the band has developed its own identity. Sator's side includes Thanks (For Nothing At All), an old demo the band rediscovered by accident while recording their last album and finally gave a proper re-recording, still carrying whatever anger originally inspired it even if nobody quite remembers what that was. I Only Want a Date covers the obscure American band The Embarrassment, whose original only ever existed on a 1984 cassette.

Four tracks, one long friendship, and a genuine lineage running straight through Swedish rock and roll's underground.
