Greetings From Suffocate City: From Beyond The Abyss expands The Funeral Portrait's breakout second album into a 21-track deluxe set, pressed on pink vinyl across two LPs.
The Atlanta band blends emo, post-hardcore and musical-theatre flair, with frontman Lee Jennings leading a cast of costumed characters through their stage shows. The original album arrived on Better Noise Music in 2024, and "Suffocate City", featuring Ice Nine Kills frontman Spencer Charnas, gave them their first No. 1 on Billboard's Mainstream Rock Airplay chart.
This edition gathers the full album plus a run of extras: "Holy Water" with Ivan Moody of Five Finger Death Punch, three newer songs including "Evergreen", a live recording and a demo, and the vinyl-exclusive "Friends Like These". Bert McCracken of The Used also turns up as a guest along the way.
Musically it is big, theatrical and catchy, with crunchy riffs, sing-along choruses and a dark sense of humour that recalls the eyeliner-era heroes the band openly admires. Jennings sings like he is playing to the back row of a gothic opera house, and the band matches him every step.
For fans who have caught one of the band's Devotion Ceremonies live, this pink double vinyl is the most complete way to own the Suffocate City era.
