New Jersey punk lifers The Bouncing Souls are back with Born To Be, their 2026 album, pressed here on blue vinyl.

Decades into a career built on singalong choruses and fierce loyalty to their community, the band teamed up with producer Will Yip, known for his work with Turnstile and Title Fight. All four members, Greg Attonito, Pete Steinkopf, Bryan Kienlen and George Rebelo, wrote the songs together, and the album wrestles with grief, perseverance and the importance of showing up for one another.

The Light opens the record and sets its tone. It was inspired by Attonito's daily drive with his child, as sunshine gives way to fog, and the idea that the light isn't lost, only filtered. Bordertown and Only Echoes keep the energy high and the gang vocals loud, while the closing title track brings the album's themes of resilience home.

Hope and hard-won wisdom sit side by side here, with the band staring down disillusionment but refusing to let it win. Kienlen also created the striking solar-eclipse artwork that wraps the whole thing up.

It's a heartfelt reminder of why this band has meant so much to so many punks for so long, and proof that the spark that lit their early records is still burning bright.
