Not Without My Ghosts marks a fierce return to form for Australian metalcore heavyweights The Amity Affliction. With this release, the band dives headfirst into their heaviest, most emotionally raw material in years – a brutal, cathartic experience that feels both fresh and reminiscent of their early, darker sound.
This album is a ghost-ridden journey through themes of grief, isolation, and inner turmoil, brought to life with blistering breakdowns, thunderous drums, and that signature blend of melodic hooks and guttural aggression. From the haunting opener to the title track “Not Without My Ghosts,” which features a visceral guest appearance from Andrew Neufeld of Comeback Kid, the record pulls no punches.
Other standout collaborations include the intense and unflinching “Show Me Your God” with rapper Louie Knuxx, and “It’s Hell Down Here” featuring Phem, whose eerie vocals contrast beautifully with the chaos beneath.
