The All-American Rejects end a fourteen-year album drought with Sandbox, their 2026 return pressed here on colored vinyl.
Their fifth studio album arrived independently, long after Kids in the Street, with Tyson Ritter and Nick Wheeler producing alongside Scott Chesak. The band rolled out a string of singles through 2025, including the title track, "Easy Come, Easy Go" and "Search Party!", rebuilding momentum one song at a time before the full record landed.
The hooks that made them radio favorites in the 2000s are still here, but the mood is looser and scrappier, like a band rediscovering why it started. "Easy Come, Easy Go" bursts out of the gate, the title track keeps the energy bright, and "For Mama" brings accordion and horns into a warmer, more heartfelt moment.
Ritter wrote nearly everything himself, and his lyrics sound older and wiser without losing their sense of humor. Wheeler's guitars stay crisp and punchy, and longtime drummer Chris Gaylor turns up on several tracks, keeping the classic chemistry intact.
Fans who grew up on their 2000s singles will find plenty to love, and anyone arriving fresh gets proof that the Rejects still have plenty to say. It sounds like a reunion with old friends who have learned a few new tricks along the way.
