Thalía's El Sexto Sentido returns for its 20th anniversary as a double LP on brown splatter vinyl, a fitting glow-up for a pop favourite.
Released in 2005, the album found the Mexican superstar polishing her crossover era, pairing lush Latin pop with English-language versions of key songs. It reached number two in Mexico and Argentina and number three on the US Top Latin Albums chart, with a production team including Cory Rooney, Estéfano and Julio C. Reyes shaping its glossy, romantic sound alongside Thalía herself.
The singles tell the story. "Amar Sin Ser Amada" launched the campaign, a song about loving without being loved back that set the album's emotional temperature, and "Un Alma Sentenciada" followed with even more drama. "Seducción" and "Olvídame" kept the run going into 2006, each built around big, hooky choruses and that warm, expressive voice front and centre. The production gleams in a very mid-2000s way, all sheen and sweep, which is exactly the point.
Two decades later, these songs still sound tailor-made for singing into a hairbrush. This anniversary pressing gives longtime fans a reason to revisit the era, and the brown splatter discs make a handsome addition to any Latin pop shelf. Press play and the mid-2000s come flooding back.
