Suki Waterhouse's I Can't Let Go is the London-born actor and model's debut album, a hazy, late-night collection of indie pop about love and the people we can never quite shake.
Released in 2022 on Sub Pop, it arrived after years of scattered singles had quietly built a devoted following. Waterhouse was already a familiar face from film and fashion, and the following year she played Karen Sirko in Daisy Jones and the Six, but these songs make a strong case that music is anything but a side project for her.
The sound leans dreamy and retro, with soft-focus guitars, unhurried tempos and a voice that drifts between breathy confession and wry aside. "Moves" floats on a breezy groove that hides real heartache, "Melrose Meltdown" turns a messy Los Angeles moment into something wistful, and "The Devil I Know" broods over the strange comfort of familiar mistakes. "Put Me Through It" adds a little extra bite to the bittersweet mood.
It is the kind of album that sounds best on a slow Sunday or a long drive after dark, intimate enough to feel like a voice note from a friend who has been through it and come out the other side. Keep it close for the nights you need it.
