Loveseat is Still Woozy's second album, a sun-warped bedroom-pop record pressed here on violet vinyl.
Still Woozy is the project of Sven Gamsky, who grew up in the San Francisco Bay Area, studied classical guitar and started releasing songs under the name in 2017. After his 2021 debut, If This Isn't Nice, I Don't Know What Is, Loveseat arrived in 2024 through Interscope, keeping the homespun, made-at-home charm that won him a devoted following.
Songs like "Again", "Shotput", "Lemon" and "Frida Kahlo" carry the hallmarks of his style: warm, wobbly guitars, gentle vocals that slip easily into falsetto, and homemade-sounding beats that bounce rather than pound. There is a playful looseness to the arrangements, with little production quirks tucked into corners, yet the melodies are sturdy enough to hum long after the record stops spinning.
Gamsky's songs feel intimate and unguarded, and across twelve tracks the album drifts by like a lazy afternoon spent with good friends, never in a hurry and always a little off-kilter in the best possible way.
For fans of off-kilter indie pop with a psychedelic tint, Loveseat is a cozy, colorful listen, and the violet pressing suits its dreamy, slightly hazy mood perfectly, especially on a slow evening.
