Shygirl reintroduces herself on SWALLOW!, a second album that pulls her club-born sound toward bigger songs and wider horizons.

The London artist first made waves in the electronic underground, co-founding the Nuxxe collective and working alongside boundary-pushers like Arca, SOPHIE and Björk before her 2022 debut Nymph carried her sly, seductive pop to a much wider audience. This time she blends indie songwriting with the electronica she came up in, recording with Karma Kid and Casey MQ.

The eleven tracks run from the opening Alyse to the closing Eternal, with Lucky (Hymn), the song that first announced the album, arriving early in the running order and Déjà Vu sitting near its centre. She has spoken about wanting listeners to remember how big the world is, even in moments when they feel small and alone, and the album's turn toward songcraft gives that idea plenty of space.

It's a confident, curious step from an artist who has never been content to stay in one lane, and who clearly enjoys keeping her audience guessing at every turn.
