Shaboozey saddles up for a full-blown Western on The Outlaw Cherie Lee & Other Western Tales, pressed on 140-gram vinyl across two LPs in a gatefold jacket.

Released in 2026 as the follow-up to Where I've Been, Isn't Where I'm Going, the album trades chart-chasing for storytelling. It's a concept record that follows Cherie Lee, a sheriff's daughter set on avenging her father's murder, whose hunt for revenge gets tangled up with love and loyalty. It also returns to the world-building of his earlier records, especially Cowboys Live Forever, Outlaws Never Die.

Jamie Foxx narrates the opening chapter, and the cast keeps growing from there, with Teyana Taylor, Kehlani, Leon Bridges, Gunna, Orville Peck and Sam Elliott all stepping into the story. Cowgirl brings back the upbeat, crowd-pleasing swing that made his name, and Burn It Down, with Leon Bridges, rides a gritty rock undertone. Drunk slows everything down into a soulful ballad, while Born To Die gives the final stretch a surging, club-ready pulse.

Between the songs, spoken interludes and violin-laced passages keep the plot moving, mixing country storytelling with hip-hop rhythm and Americana grit.

It's an ambitious swing from an artist who could easily have played it safe, and the gatefold gives the tale room to unfold side by side.
