Samara Joy's first live release is a five-track EP recorded at Blue Note Los Angeles, and it captures the warmth and daring that make her performances so magnetic.

The Bronx-born singer has had a remarkable rise in just a few years, winning the Grammy for Best New Artist and later taking Best Jazz Vocal Album for Portrait. These recordings come from a sold-out run at the club earlier in 2026, with Joy fronting the septet that has been sharpening its arrangements alongside her on the road.

The repertoire is pure standards, approached with a fearless sense of ownership. Thelonious Monk's "Round Midnight" unfolds slowly, her rich lower register wrapping around every turn of the melody, while Jerome Kern's "Yesterdays" lets the band show off its sharp, swinging charts.
