Eight years after Honey, Robyn is back on the dancefloor with Sexistential, nine tracks of frank, glittering electro-pop from the Swedish star.
Released in 2026 on her own Konichiwa label, the album reunites her with Klas Åhlund, her key collaborator on the Body Talk records, alongside producers including Metronomy's Joseph Mount, Oscar Holter and Elvira Anderfjärd. The sound sits closest to that 2010 era, all crisp synths and heart-on-sleeve hooks, but the subject matter is new. Robyn writes about life as a single mother, IVF, desire and the body with a candour that feels liberating rather than confessional, and the title says it all: sex meets existential.
Lead single "Dopamine" fizzes like the chemical it is named after, pulling a crowd onto the floor with a chorus built for shouting back. "Blow My Mind" revisits a song from her early-2000s catalogue with fresh muscle, "Talk to Me" pulses with late-night urgency, and the title track is a two-minute jolt of sly, minimal pop.
At under half an hour it is lean and generous at once, with not a second wasted and nothing to skip.
Robyn has spent two decades proving that crying on the dancefloor is an art form, and this record adds a few more reasons to do it.
