Robin Trower Live! captured a power trio at full stretch in Stockholm, and this 50th Anniversary Edition on 2LP finally lets the whole night run long and loud.

Recorded at the Stockholm Concert Hall in 1975 and first released in 1976, the original album squeezed just seven songs onto a single LP. Trower, riding high after Bridge of Sighs, was leading a formidable lineup with bassist and singer James Dewar and drummer Bill Lordan, a band whose chemistry made the stage its natural home.

This expanded edition presents the complete concert, remixed by Richard Whittaker from the original multitrack tapes with Trower's approval, including five performances never released before. Bridge of Sighs is the centerpiece, all slow-burning dread and swirling, heavily modulated guitar tone, while Too Rolling Stoned shifts from a tough, funky strut into a long, molten jam. Daydream stretches out into floating, aching blues that shows off Dewar's soulful voice as much as Trower's playing.

Dewar's warm, smoky vocals are the perfect foil for the fireworks, and Lordan keeps everything swinging rather than plodding, even at the heaviest moments.

For guitar obsessives and classic rock fans, it is as close to a front-row seat at this band's peak as anyone is likely to get.
