Riley Green lays his cards on the table with That's Just Me, a 2026 double album of straight-shooting country that lives up to its title.
The Alabama singer-songwriter wrote and recorded these songs during a pivotal year in his life, while out on the biggest tour of his career, and the result is one of his most personal records yet. Nineteen tracks give him room to stretch, moving between longing and heartbreak, carefree beachside anthems and the rowdy drinking songs that have long been part of his appeal. It's rooted in classic country storytelling, with a western streak running through it.
Green also brings along some heavyweight company. Brooks & Dunn join him on "Pave All Them Red Dirt Roads," Alabama frontman Randy Owen turns up on "Lookout Mountain," and Jake Worthington pulls up a stool for "Well Well Whiskey." On the lighter side, "Bartender in Destin" trades the honky-tonk for a stretch of Gulf Coast sand, a reminder that he can do easygoing fun as well as he does heartache.
Spread across two LPs, That's Just Me plays like an evening with an old friend who has plenty of stories and isn't shy about telling them. For fans of traditional-leaning country with a sense of humor and a big heart, it's an easy record to keep within reach.
