Five years on, the bedroom-pop mixtape that made PinkPantheress a phenomenon is set to return as a limited anniversary edition of to hell with it on clear vinyl.

Released in 2021, to hell with it compressed a whole new sound into about 18 minutes: wistful, diaristic pop sung in a hushed voice over sped-up breakbeats and samples borrowed from UK garage and drum and bass. Most songs barely pass the two-minute mark, a format honed on social media that she turned into a distinct artistic signature.

Pain set the template with its fluttering garage rhythm and lovesick lyrics, while Just for Me, produced by Mura Masa, wraps heartbreak in a glassy, nocturnal shimmer. Passion and I Must Apologise show how much feeling she could pack into a fleeting runtime, each one ending before you are quite ready to let it go.

She produced or co-produced much of it herself, which gives the mixtape its intimate, homemade charm, the sense of overhearing someone's late-night voice notes set to a beat.

It remains one of the most distinctive pop debuts of its decade, and its brevity suits vinyl perfectly: put it on, flip it, and the urge to start again arrives almost immediately. The clear pressing keeps the presentation as light and airy as the music.
