Peter Frampton's Carry The Light is his first album of all-new rock songs in 16 years, pressed here on 180 gram yellow vinyl.

Released in 2026, it was co-written and co-produced with his son Julian Frampton, alongside engineer and co-producer Chuck Ainlay, which makes it a deeply personal family affair. The songs look back on the changes and connections of recent years, and the title points to the wisdom worth handing on to the next generation, a fitting theme for a record made with his son.

The guest list is impressive. Sheryl Crow trades vocals on "Breaking The Mold," Tom Morello brings his firebrand guitar to the protest song "Lions At The Gate," and H.E.R. swaps guitar lines with Frampton on the instrumental "Islamorada." Elsewhere, Benmont Tench adds keyboards to "Buried Treasure," a tribute to Tom Petty, and Graham Nash lends his harmonies.

Through it all, Frampton's guitar remains the star, melodic and expressive, with the warm, singing tone fans have loved since the 1970s. The playing is tasteful rather than showy, every solo serving the song.

It is a rich late-career statement from a Rock and Roll Hall of Famer who still has plenty to say, and the yellow vinyl makes it a bright addition to any shelf.
