Old Crow Medicine Show throw a string-band birthday party for the United States on Union Made, a 2026 album built around the country's 250th anniversary.
The Nashville outfit has spent more than two decades turning old-time music into something rowdy and current, and here they aim that energy at American history itself. Longtime bassist Morgan Jahnig produced the record at the band's own East Nashville studio, and it plays like the most crowded front porch they have ever hosted. It follows OCMS XMAS, the band's first holiday album, which landed at the end of 2025.
The guest list is generous. Jesse Welles joins the opening "Howdy Do America," Evan Felker turns up on "Revolution Now," and "My Side of the Mountain," written by Ketch Secor with Molly Tuttle and Luke Combs, brings Tuttle together with bluegrass royalty Del McCoury and Ronnie McCoury. Maggie Rose, harmonica great Lee Oskar, John Carter Cash and Ana Cristina Cash all drop by later in the running order.
Between those collaborations, "Lincoln Highway" leans into the map and the stories scattered along it, with fiddle, banjo and harmonica doing as much of the storytelling as the lyrics.
It's patriotic in the old folk sense: curious, celebratory and willing to sing about the whole place. Best played loud, with company.
