When Are You Leaving? is NoSo's second album, pressed on oxblood vinyl, and it's the sound of a songwriter finally standing on solid ground after years of writing from the wanting.
Baek Hwong's debut Stay Proud of Me lived in possibility, a record about what life might feel like if things went right. This 2025 follow-up is the aftermath: Hwong transitioned, got the thing he'd been chasing, and discovered what most people discover, which is that arriving somewhere doesn't quietly resolve everything you carried there. Largely self-produced, the album turns existing outside the gender binary into something closer to autobiography than statement, and it never once mistakes clarity for tidiness.
The palette is wider than anything he's tried before. Sugar rides a disco groove that has no business being this melancholy, DAD MADE TOAST! brings in Bartees Strange for the record's most jagged, guitar-forward moment, and You're No Man cuts closest to the bone, four words in the title doing more damage than most songs manage in three verses. Let It Die closes things out as an atmospheric ballad that finally stops arguing with itself, the sound of putting down old narratives instead of winning them.
Sometimes the best thing a record can do is refuse to pretend the hard part is over.
