The title of Nielson's third album says it all. Diamond is colorful and versatile, and every time you look (or listen) to it, you discover something new. Diamond represents the renewed Nielson, who shows himself from a different side on this album. His new sound sounds different, feels different and is different: electronic, mature and international. The lyrics on Diamant are more honest than ever. 'People mainly know the cheerful Nielson, but I also have a darker side. I wanted to become more personal with my music, myself really show and also reinvent myself musically.' Diamant is the record of a growth process, of pushing boundaries and stepping out of your comfort zone. The album is an intermediate station in Nielson's search for himself. And that quest continues: Nielson is extremely curious about everything else that comes his way. He is ready, the safe mask is now finished. 'Everything I have is in this album. If you listen to Diamant, you know exactly who I am.'
