The Black Parade/Living with Ghosts (10th Anniversary) [3LP] Vinyl

The Black Parade turns ten in style: three LPs, an etched side D, and a disc of demos called Living with Ghosts.

My Chemical Romance’s 2006 concept album follows a dying patient who meets the Parade in his final hours, and it made theatrical, tragic rock opera feel like the coolest thing a teenager could love. Gerard Way and co. swung for the fences and turned eyeliner into a worldview.

Welcome to the Black Parade is the marching-band anthem everyone knows by heart, Teenagers snarls with a wink, and Mama brings the full operatic drama, guest star and all. The whole record plays like a stage show with the volume stuck on eleven.

The extra disc is a treat for devoted fans: eleven unreleased demos and outtakes from the Rob Cavallo sessions, including The Five of Us Are Dying and early versions of songs you thought you knew. It’s the Parade before the costumes went on.

Released in 2016 to mark a decade since the original, this edition is made for anyone who can still recite every word of the album, and for the ones who are about to learn. Spin the full story front to back, preferably in your best black jacket, and let the parade march on.
