Recorded in 2001 during the era of The World Needs A Hero, this acoustic club show was taped by a local rock radio station and long circulated as a fan club exclusive before getting a proper release in 2021. The line-up of Dave Mustaine, David Ellefson, Al Pitrelli and Jimmy DeGrasso strips everything back to acoustic guitars and a light touch on the drums, and the set leans on the melodic side of the catalogue.
Dread And The Fugitive Mind opens with fresh menace even without the distortion, while Trust reveals how strong its hook always was beneath the thrash. Promises becomes a hushed, moody showcase for Mustaine's voice, Almost Honest keeps its catchy, radio-ready bounce, and the band even serves up a brief excerpt of Holy Wars... The Punishment Due for the faithful. Symphony Of Destruction closes the night, its marching riff somehow just as heavy on acoustic strings.
It is a rare, relaxed glimpse of one of metal's most intense bands letting the songs breathe. For Megadeth collectors, the splatter pressing makes a fun companion to the electric classics.
