Marshmello closed out his Joytime trilogy in 2019 with Joytime III, a bright, bass-heavy set that plays like a festival main stage squeezed into thirteen tracks. Here it is on a single LP.
By the time this third volume arrived, the helmeted producer was one of the most recognizable figures in electronic music, and the Joytime series had always been where he stretched out on his own terms. Released on his Joytime Collective imprint, the album leans hard into the collaborative spirit of the scene, bringing in fellow producers Slushii, Yultron, Wiwek, Crankdat, Tynan, Bellecour and Flux Pavilion to share the controls.
The highlights come from every direction. Rescue Me pairs Marshmello with A Day to Remember, a crossover of big rock vocals and soaring drops that showed just how far his reach extended. Room to Fall, made with Flux Pavilion and featuring Elohim, became the album's heavyweight trap moment, while Put Yo Hands Up with Slushii is pure festival-floor energy. Angklung Life with Wiwek takes a detour into something more playful and unexpected.
It is a party record with a big, goofy heart, built for loud speakers and a willing crowd. For anyone who has followed the Joytime saga from the first volume, this is the finale, finally on wax.
