Marcos Valle went full boogie on his self-titled 1983 album, a sunlit blend of Brazilian songcraft and slick early-80s funk.
By then Valle was already a bossa nova and MPB legend, the writer behind classics heard around the world in the 1960s. After years spent working in the United States, he came home with a new sound, trading orchestral sophistication for synths and bright, punchy grooves, and the result became one of the cornerstones of Brazilian boogie.
